I have also modified a CT-17 to include both CW and PTT transistors in the
box and used two of the four rig jacks for those functions. Makes a pretty
neat package.
BUT remember, the CT-17 requires external 12 volts.
Some of the cheap / easy ones use the control lines, those you will try to
use for PTT and CW, as the power for the CIV level conveter, SOOO, when you
try to do both you can't.
This MAY be your problem
