Having used an Orion here for a little over a month I must say that it has a
superb receiver with exception adjacent channel performance. However, my Orion
was returned to the factory because I felt it was a incomplete project. At my
prompting, Ten Tec implemented rtty capability at a very late date. However, I
feel it was poorly planned (level requirements) and poorly documented (the
manual could have been written by a 13 year old). The unit I had also had
problems with system initialization.... failing to turn on each time power was
applied. I did not want to participate in a "work in progress" radio so I
sent it back and my money was refunded without any difficulty. If you enjoy
cw get the Orion.... you probably can't do better for the money but if you are
a serious rtty man go for the new Icom 7800.
