David,

sorry for responding so late, but we tried to figure out what's wrong =
with
your config.
Please follow the steps below to configure your system from scratch:
1) Open Direct I/O Control Panel
2) In tab "I/O Ports" set 378-37F as the only ports
3) In tab "IRQs" delete _all_ IRQs
4) In tab "Memory" delete all memory ranges
5) In tab "Security" set one entry named "C:\Program Files\Direct
IO\testio32.exe". Note that your path may be different depending on your
Direct I/O installation.
6) Close Direct I/O Control Panel
7) Start TestIo32 by executing Start->Programs->Direct =
IO->Samples->TestIo32
8) From this command line shell execute "TESTIO32 /O /T 0x378 0x37f". =
The
output should look like:
C:\Program Files\Direct IO>testio32 /O /T 0x378 0x37f
_inp(0x378) =3D 0xFF
_inp(0x379) =3D 0xDF
_inp(0x37A) =3D 0xC4
_inp(0x37B) =3D 0xFF
_inp(0x37C) =3D 0xFF
_inp(0x37D) =3D 0xFF
_inp(0x37E) =3D 0xFF
_inp(0x37F) =3D 0xFF
The port values at the right side are values read back from the parallel
port. The may be different on your machine. If you receive the value
"failed" your I/O port config of step 2 isn't correct. If you get any =
other
output please let me know.
9) Open Direct I/O Control Panel again
10) In tab "Security" add the entry named =
"C:\ham\Programs\WriteL32.exe".
12) Close Direct I/O Control Panel
13) Run your Writelog application
If you expirence any differences while following these steps please let =
me
know.
Hope this helps

Michael
