A common keying problem that's sometimes overlooked is trying to key a rig with
logging software, with the rig's keyer turned ON. IT MUST Be turned off.
With the rig's keyer on, the rig sees closures on the key-in line as a command
to start sending dots or dashes. Depending on the speed setting on the rig's
keyer, this can throw in an extra dot or dash or two, or whole bunches of them.
