Hello Tom,
glad to meet you in this reflector.
I am using an FT-1000MP also. Running WritLog on a Pentium 133 MHz with
64 MByte RAM and Win98SE.
There were only two problems t osolve for me.
1. PTT: I found that it seems to be impossible to control the PTT of an
FT-1000MP via the rig control. After the first dot the rig goes back to
receive. (With Kenwood-radio the PTT-control via rig-control works very
fine).
2. Some of the newer Com- and LPT-ports are not able to supply enough
current for a cw-interface with optocoupler or transistor-interfaces
with only 1 kOhm in the basis-line of the transistor.
My solution: 1 interface for the LPT-port with 2 functions
1. PTT-control with a transistor with 4.7 kOhm in the Basis-line.
2. CW-Interface like described in the WriteLog-help file.
I assume you are running Win9x an not WinNT/2000/XP.
In the 2 case you have to run special software for contrlling the
LPT-port because those operating systems don't allow the applications
to use the LPT-port like DOS or Win9x.
