Thank everyone for there direct responses to me about my soundcard problem with
this 586/266mhz IBM pc. My problem was that, I could get the soundcard to
receive rtty but everytime I clicked the log window or anything else, it turned
off the Mike input.
Well I did lots of things, can't remember all of them, but one of the e-mails
suggested I download the soundboard check utility from the Writelog site. I
did that and put it in the \ham\programs folder. I ran it and got a 7f. Which
is good. That didn't solve my problem, but while I was in the \ham\programs
folder I saw and ran the Writelog Sound Mixer Level Control program. I changed
the "Receive Selection" from Line in to Mike. That did it!! I am sure that I
was there before? I had used the "Setting up Writelog for your sound board"
article off the Writelog website and on page 6 it tell you to do just what I
did. So I must have done something? Anyway it works. Case Closed. But maybe
this will help someother ham that thinks he knows everything. When in doubt,
Read the Manual (RTFM).
Cu at the Saturday Night RTTY Dinner.
