Jeff:
You probably have a bunch of programs running in the background,
such as virus checkers, etc., all of which use CPU time.
Look at your task bar and make sure whatever is there is
necessary for contesting. If not, close it. The do CTL-ALT-DEL
once (and only once!) This will bring up a list of programs still
running. Systray and Explorer are necessary components of
Win98. If anything else is still there, try to figure out what it is for,
and if not necessary for contesting, close it. That should solve your
problem. I used a P-60 for several years with no hiccups.
