Several points to clarify on this. NewFoundland and Labrador combined to
form a new province (guess to cut costs HI) last Fall. I would expect
the new province to be NFL or NL. The log checking program will either
recognize NF or put it out on the exception report for someone to look
at. Someone does review the results???????
There are two different items for receipt and checking the logs. First,
the receiving robot receives the log and either sends you a confirmation
number or tells you that your log is not cabrillo and to submit another.
Hopefully this first attempt is logged so that there will be no problem
with a late log. Second, there is a program on the log checkers computer
that checks the logs. On mine I can select one log, a group of logs, or
all the logs. In any case there is a corrected score and a exception
list. The log checker goes through the exception list and selects the
good contacts. Last year VY2ZMM was put on the list for about 15% of the
logs as the log checking program was looking for PE. The alias had to be
set so that PEI and VY2 both
were accepted. Thus the log checking program must have the same
multiplier and alias list you do and often changes have to made during
the actual checking of logs. There is someone looking at the exceptions
for all contests isn't there?????
