At our club station we just received two Icom Pro-3 and doing last weekend I
notice the samething about the double click to get the bandmap spots to change
the rig frequency.
What I did was in the setup menu, I change the default baud rate from auto to
19.2. I then went into the menu of the PRO-3 and changed the baud rate for the
CIV to 19.2.
After a while the problem went away as the old spots went away.
I don't know what rig you are using, but try setting the rig and writelog to
the same baudrate and don't use 'AUTO'.
