I am just noticing that you are using an 8400. The WL documentation says'
"Flex-6000 series". I wonder if that could be the issue. I'm not familiar
enough with Flex to know.
Once this is all ironed out, I will make an effort to put up some pages on it
on rttycontesting.com in the future.

No problem. Flexradio has step by step written and Youtube Video Help for
N1MM and Flexradio. But not one thing on Writelog. I assume that seeing
there are not many that use Writelog,
they don't see that as a priority.
