Chuck,
I use a microHAM MicroKeyer II connected to my IC-7600 for my PTT and DVK.
I do not have Echo Microphone checked. As much as I can remember I've never
had that checked. The Help manual says that "WriteLog can handle all your
audio switching through the sound board if your board supports it." It may
be that the RigExpert cannot be controlled by WL with Echo Microphone
checked.
In looking at the Rig Expert website for the TI-5 USB interface it states
that is has, "Ability to connect external microphone and foot switch for
using the interface to operate SSB or FM in combination with voice recording
software." It makes no mention of VOX. Do you have a foot or hand switch
to try getting PTT to engage? Also the web page mentions a, "Single 25-pin
connector for transceiver connection." I'm assuming the 25-pin connector is
at the back of the TI-5 with various cable out connectors to your radio.
Are they all correctly connected? Is there continuity in the cables, no
shorts, weak solder joints, etc. Also you've not mentioned the radio you
are trying to control so it is difficult to get too specific with what may
be wrong there.

Gary AL9A
