Are there any COM ports which are not present? You can find out by opening a CMD window (from the Start menu select Run and type in CMD). At the window use these commands: set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1 devmgmt.msc This will start device manager but it will show devices which are not present. You may see some serial ports that you can delete. I don't know if it will help.
