You are all misinterpreting what command 1A, sub-command 0565 does.
It does NOT clear RIT on the radio. What it does do is to read or
set the "Quick RIT Clear Function" -- see page 103 of the IC756-ProIII
manual for a description of this function, or the RIT section on
page 58.
The Icom IC756 Pro III does NOT have any commands in its command set
to clear RIT, nor to turn it on or off, nor to read or set its value.
Along with the inability to determine if the radio is operating split
or not, these are serious shortcomings to the Icom command set. We can
all only hope that Icom will correct this on the forthcoming IC-7600.

I agree that the IC-756 Pro III has the command, but so far as I can tell,
WL does not support it. We need it for RTTY!

Only applies to 756ProII and ProII
The 7700 uses 1A 050086, The 7800 uses 1A 050091, The 746Pro
uses 1A 0529. The 7000 uses 1A 050077. I don't see the option
for the 7200.
RIT/XIT clear is not available on Icom radios prior to the
746Pro, 756ProII ...
