I know that I've used it with WriteLog for DTR CW, RTS PTT, 45 baud RTTY,
and TXD/RXD rig control of my FT-1KMP. I've also used it with other
programs like DigiPan, VE3SUN DX Monitor, Omni-Rig, and AirMail (to talk to
a pactor TNC).
Jim;
I was wondering if you specifically used this interface with MMTTY when you
were using Writelog.? This is the application that is crashing with my SIIG 4?
Channel PCI Unit and does not key FSK with my single channel IOGEAR USB /
Serial Converter.

Hi Rick,
I know that I've used it with WriteLog for DTR CW, RTS PTT, 45 baud RTTY,
and TXD/RXD rig control of my FT-1KMP. I've also used it with other
programs like DigiPan, VE3SUN DX Monitor, Omni-Rig, and AirMail (to talk to

As far as the drivers go, I never paid any attention. I threw out the CDROM
that came with the adapter and downloaded the latest driver installer .exe
from the Keyspan web site. I ran the installer and didn't get involved.
The result was that the proper drivers were installed for my computers and a
new program called Keyspan Serial Assistant was correctly installed in
c:\program files\keyspan. The keyspan serial assistant lets me see all of
the keyspan adapters I have attached, set their properties, map them to
different COM port numbers, etc. I don't recall any limitation on the COM
port numbers that can be assigned. Windows device manager sees the adapter
as a regular serial port.
That's about all that I know about the adapter. Since it always worked and
didn't make a fuss, I was never inclined to dig into the details. Others
may know more of the deep details.
I hope that this helps.

Specifically, which apps have you tested? 60 WPM FSK RTTY? CW keying
using handshake lines (DTR)?
Did you have any trouble getting the driver to work? Some of these
adapters come with eleventeen drivers for a list of 101 models, none
of which is exactly the part number of what you bought, or it is not
clear which OS they are for.
What COM port numbers are possible?
