I've used AUTO mode several times along with multi-streams ... outside of
contests. I only do that when I get a pileup that won't quit. A strong EU
or JA opening will do that although not so much recently since KH6 isn't so
rare. But I never really sat and watched it for more than a few
minutes, and not with SO2R. Usually I go manually until I get bored
(doesn't take long), then click the AUTO box and go mow the lawn or watch
TV.

I can see where contest sponsors might want to see a non-AUTO version since
there's no way for them to tell if you're doing it manually or not just by
looking at your log. But then they don't necessarily know you're using DR
either ... just Writelog.

BTW, I've been thinking that even in full AUTO mode, I still have the
opportunity to manually uncheck calls in the queue that are low point value
or not going very well in the QSO process. That pretty much makes up the
rate disadvantage of full AUTO. Call it semi-auto. DR still automatically
puts callers in the queue but I can deselect them if there are bigger fish
to fry. I can also add CQing stations to the queue if I choose.
