I've had consistently good results using the front panel headphone output of
the MP as the audio source for contest recording. I've found it
straightforward to adjust the line level input of my soundcard with the
Windows record volume control to provide a good match for the radio's
headphone output at my usual listening level. The ssb monitor or cw
sidetone are recorded as well.
