The best way to eliminate the 2nd order IM in the FT1000D is to have the
TX tuner in the RX path as well. There was a mod disclosed by myself in
CQ/DL 1994, with drawings etc. This is in use since then and never
failed. I use 2 el. Quad for 40 m and wide band log periodic from 10 to
30 MHz and have no 2nd intermod at all with this mod.
Unfortuanetly this mod is described in German. If you want to have the
