I notice that emitter follower but it seem to be working.

Every time I send an update command, the CAT indicator come on and I get =
a data string on SO. Sig levels look normal but...the timing is what =
worries me. As explained, the shortest data element in the SO is below =
2.2ms For a 4800 BR signal the shortest element should be the inverse of =
4800 (1/4800).

Was hopping to work on my radio this week end but my honey to do list =
was tooo long hi

Thanks for the comments, appreciate it! That's good ham operators =
spirit!!

Bretts' post got me to thinking. #1 there is no Line Driver/Receiver =
Chip. But there is a transistor used for Txd. BTW just to confuse =
things Yaesu uses SO/SI - Cat Out/Cat In- Txd/Rxd interchangeably.=20
On the control unit there is a transistor Q5017 / 2SC945AQ. NPN wired =
in an emitter follower configuration.=20
Voltages are supposed to be :
  Collector 5v
  Base 4.9v
  Emitter 4.5v
  Good luck
  Ron
