A quick note to say thank you to those who all responded and offered
input on buying a used ft 100d .. i did buy and all seems very well ..
my big attraction was the 200 watt output.. while i love QRO many many
times the small diff from 100 to 200 for me makes a difference that i
can live with and not get all 'gung ho' and warm us the heavy stuff ..
thank you all mac/mc w5mc

Another hf radio out there that has 200 watts output is the TS-480HX. A
great radio for the mobile due to its small size, great heat and
transmit duty cycle, and long history of reliable performance.

Have a FT-1000MP that I bought new and will always keep.

The D version has a great history of performance was king of DX
operators for a long while.
