I would like to get the power out of my FT-990
to 5 watts or below, especially on CW. I found
a circuit in "QPR Power", for a simple manual
voltage control of the external ALC jack on the
rear of the radio. Would this work, is it a good
idea, etc? Also the circuit shows a 9 volt
battery with 82K of resistance, while the
Yaesu manual specifies 0-4 volts negative.
Would a 4.5 volt battery pack with less
resistance be simpler? Thanks.
73,
Darryl, KK5IB
