The strain relief on my FT-2600 (in the car) broke right where it joins
the body of the mic, exposing about 1/4 inch of the conductors. Chunks
have flaked off spontaneously, and now it has split in line with the
cord. It gets very little use, and is close enough that the cord isn't
unduly stretched.
Any one else experience anything like this? I am reluctant to replace it
if it's likely to happen again. Out of warranty, of course.
