It can do either. There is a DIN connector on the rear of the FT 1000D
that interfaces with a computer's serial port and can be driven directly
by MMTTY or a RTTY-capable contest logger to produce FSK.
Alternatively, you can run a line into the mic audio input and produce
AFSK out using LSB mode.
