Several folks suggested taking off the antenna connector to see if
they are internal or over-the-air. Did so today, all are
over-the-air. Weird that there are so many about 25-30 kHz up from a
lower band edge. I am in downeast Maine, will check with a friend
tonight in NJ to see if he hears same.

If a birdie were coming in on an IF frequency, it would be there no
matter where in the band you tuned. unless
the receiver arrangement is such that there is a fixed conversion to a
tunable IF--think of a 2 meter converter
coming out on 10 meters.
