- I just heard back from Ameritron on why my AL800H was putting out low power. It is driven by a pair of 3CX800HX tubes. They said a tube was shorted and there was some other damage to some capacitors

- the sizzling I was hearing on the 800H when turning it on is now a a smoking on/off switch or something in close proximity.....not good- I think this amp, 73 Paul N0AH

- Replacing the switch worked. I found one exactly like it at Lowes. I was told that the amp is most likely getting 12Amps, the switch is rated for 10A at 250V, 16A at 120V. I got a lot of great advice
