This is a quiz! New amp using 3CX3000A7. No band switch, new plate blocking cap (.0019uf/15KV). Tube fil turned off. When I adjust the HV to more than 4-4.5 KV it eats the glitch resistor. (10 ohm) W

The glitch resistor is 10 ohm at 20w.. The transmitter puts out 1500w with ease on 75 meters as long as I don't bring the plate volts above 4-4.5 KV. As I said earlier, it didn't blow with 22k 20 w r

As it turns out, the "HV" relay shorts between the mounting stud and the coil wiring. The vacuum must be gone. anybody know where I can get a "good" relay?? Dennis W7JX

Lets say our rippy doo amp is running 5 kv plate AB2 GG. The plate Z = about 12.5K at idle current..Now at "berserko speech", as Rich would say, 1 amp of plate current the plate Z = 3.125k. What's up

Anybody tried putting an "unun" between the filament choke and the input network of a GG amp. If the input Z could be raised up to 200 ohms it would make the input filter-tuner a bit easier to manage
