Last night while tuning my Amp, 2 x 3-1000Z, into the dummy load on 75 meters, I accidentally turned the Roller inductor instead of the Antenna load Crank. The two turns counters are side by side and

I just finished my Dual 3-1000Z GG amplifier. I have an odd issue now that I cant seem to figure out. The amp will do 2KW with 40 watts of drive on 80 meters. Additional drive does not add any power

I think we figured out the issue. I had used 6K ohm for the plate load resistor and back fed the Network with a 259B in order to make a tuning chart. I should have used about 3K I guess. I set the C

Thank you for the reply. We found that I had used the wrong value plate load impedance when making my tuning chart. Once the network was tuned for 3K ohms, things started to work as they should. The

We really need pictures of the amp. But at $900. Its almost a safe bet. The 3-1000 is the superior tube for ham radio use and will work at those lower voltages. The 4-1000s will require more voltage

That makes sense to me Gary. I have never heard of cracked Graphite plates. C Forced air on the tube is to keep the seal temperature down. All of the cooling of the plate is accomplished by radiation
