Manuel, It would work if it doesn't touch the heat fin ring itself. It needs to be about 1/4" larger I.D. than the O.D. of the tube. The air temp is not that hot, but the max temp of the fins is hot

I just got in a Heathkit HD-1250 dip meter where the foam inside the cases lid had started to dissolve and become sticky, similar to tar. This was a bad problem with these after storage for a while.

There's one way to tell how hot it will get. Use any six volt or other voltage source which is the same as the heater voltage, apply a resistor, the same as the heater, in series with a coil of wire
