- That sounds typical of some of thr Russian triodes too...I read somewhere a few yrs ago of a conversion to GI7B`s in a MLA-2500 . The guy had a ac hum on the audio as well as when keyed with no drive

- Something Tomm might not know: The Russian vacuum variable caps may have a diffrent turns ratio(Less turns for more/less C) than other brands like Jennings,etc.This could affect the final gear ratio

- Most bearing supply outlets will have various bushings in stock...1/4-3/8 is a common size, another source is an industrial machine shop..(It helps to have a friend that does this kind of work) Hope

- If it`s reading low..Oil it! Tee Hee...Actually you need to take it apart and adjust the internal shunt...Some of the Weston meters I have seen are internally shunted with resistance wire...Perhaps S
