Couldn't resist buying this unused tube at the SEAPAC swap meet. Plan on using the 1979 ARRL handbook design, more than likely for single band 160m instead of the tri-band circuit as shown. I'm hopin

Thanks to all the responses to my query! I guess it reminds me of the Wendy's hamburger ad running right now: "Is that Fresh?" The response given is "Define Fresh!" Yes a 4-1000A will 'Work' in the B

Hello Group A friend has a Ten Tec Centaur, model 411 (runs 3 811a) that has a problem, and Ten Tec apparently can't help! From my conversation with him, it appears the bias is not functioning, so th

I have an HL-1K from THP, and the power cord is only 2 conductors. The manual gives wiring schemes for 100v, 110v, 117/120v, 200v,220v, and 234/240v. Only the 2 leads are illustrated (obviously a hot

Might have answered my own question, what do you guys think? I think it's for THERMAL reasons, as the step-start resistors (R1 and R2) are mounted vertically right behind that rear cap. Does that mak

Hi Mike I think all the wire sizes you mentioned are too large, and the resistor might be right on the edge dissipation wise. I just went through this, and reduced the filament voltage on my Henry 3K
