- No, lighter antenna loading (more load C after max out reached ) had a minor effect. Heavier antenna loading (less load C) had a pronounced effect on harmonics and spurs. Paul

- Adjustable yes, but you don't have to change taps, just apply current through the string and it's voltage drop wanders all over the place. For voltage stability this is the worst way to provide bias.

- Hi Carl Really no reason for 3-watt resistors in a metering string for 1ma or less meter movements. Have a look at the Vishay/Dale CMF series resistors. 500v working with 900v withstanding. 3/4 watt
