True! And it is a shame that they aren't! If the DAF is built per the original design, with a time constant in the screen circuit that will allow the screen voltage to follow the envelope of the SSB

Hi RIch, The effective screen resistance of the 4-125A is going to vary quite a bit in the DAF as the voltage is going to wander. Let's assume a typical value, for the moment, in the range of 10K-15K

Guys, Forgive me for being a knuckle head, but because the human voice is asymmetrical, won't this prevent the screen circuit from properly following the "modulated" grid, whereby tossing linearity o

two Hi Rich, Why won't an input signal derived screen "supply", with a 50uS time constant, follow the RF envelope during a two-tone test?? 73, Marv WC6W * ____________________________________________

A good clue is that observed screen potential does not change during a two-tone test. // To be able to follow 7MHz, 50uS won't get it. - Rich..., 805.386.3734, www.vcnet.com/measures. end -- FAQ on

It doesn't have to follow 7MHz or 30MHz or even 1.8 MHz. It only has to follow the envelope of the two-tone signal which has been bandlimited by passing through a couple kHz wide filter. 10 KHz compl
