I think the tolerance is normally +/- 5% (that should be on the data sheet), so the answer is yes. You can easily add an external resistor in series with the heater. I don't know what the heater curr

I use the old Henry trick of installing a 10 ohm slider type power resistor in the primary of the filament transformer. (25 or 50 watts, as required) The proper voltage can be set at the tube pins b

Hi, My specs say that the 4pr1000 tube needs 7.5v for the heaters, I've got a transformer from Dhal, but on testing the voltage with the tube in the deck I see I'm getting about 8.3v Is this to high?

? ... not for those who have a free supply of 4PR1000As. For those who don't, 7.2v is mo' betta. -- The math: Since relative emissive life of a thoriated tungsten cathode is (E1/E2)^23.4, 8.3v/7.2v^

Thanks to all who replied regarding the heater voltage on my 4pr1000 Due to the various resistors I had sitting around here, I've settled for it at 7v. All I have to do now is try the HT, then a litt
