Is it or is it not necessary to withhold anode voltage while the '800A7's (etc.) warm up??? Not necessary, nor is it with 8877's. All Alpha 77 series amps apply HV as soon as you switch primary power

Isn't it the case that the 77 has cutoff bias from the EBS when not driven? 73, Dan, N5AR Not necessary, nor is it with 8877's. All Alpha 77 series amps apply HV as soon as you switch primary power.

Sirs, According to the later revision of CB-2 on the '77, the bias voltage unkeyed is ~57 volts. When keyed, it goes to 15 volts, and when driven goes to ~8 volts. Hal W4HBM On Fri, 17 Sep 2004 15:06
