But the street price of an AL-82 is only $2460 shipped, it has a more robust transformer and parts are readily available.  But it is the buyer's money - guess he can spend it as he likes. Cheers, Bob

At nearly every hamfest I attend, I get drawn in to inspecting the Ameritron amps. Usually, the covers are removed so the components are easily observed. The AL series transformer may be more robust
