More likely since he also says "very little drive" the 4-400 is used in a grid driven driven configuration as a driver. That would be about right for 300W or so of carrier power to drive the 3CX-100

Nah, it only needs 330W of drive as an AM linear for 5650W out. 7KV at 2.4A For slopbucket its 1540W if you want it all.....24KW+. A SB-220 will get it close(-; Carl KM1H ____________________________
