- I'm looking for comments (pro and con) regarding the NCL 2000 amp. I have an opportunity to buy one dirt cheap and aside from the cost of the 8122 tube, I'm wondering if there is anything else I shou

- Yes, the bias transistors are $25.00 ea (RF Parts) and hard to find. Make sure you have the proper bias before installing new tubes. Ed, K6ODV At 10:04 AM 9/28/2003 -0700, Paul B. Peters, VE7AVV wrot

- ? On my Website, there is a diagram showing some circuit improvements for the NCL-2000. Apparently, the person or persons who designed this amplifier never bothered to read the RCA Transmitting Tube

- If one needed to replace the 2x8122, it might be worthwhile looking at the Svetlana 4CX400. The tube is spec'd for 600 watts out in ICAS ... 1200 Watts for a pair ... with 2500 Volts on the plates. A

- The idea of re-tubing an NCL-2000 with Svetlana tubes is quite intriguing. I would think it would be virtually certain that the 4CX400A would fit, since it is slightly smaller in diameter than the 89
