- I am my wits end with a recurring problem, and I am hoping maybe some of you may be able to help me. The last two amps I have had both seemed to be arcing internally somewhere. The first amp I had pr

- At the risk of stating the obvious, if the 240 VAC circuit is defective and possibly arcing, this is a fire hazard and you'd probably be best off not doing further diagnostic work until an electricia

- Tom, Does the amp do this while at idle or only when it's keyed up? If it is when it's keyed, I'd take a look at my antenna and or the line. I have seen them arc inside the coax connector making a hi

- Tom, Have you measured the 240v lines at both your shack and your friend's? My best guess is that your 240v line is either ultra-high in voltage, or the ground is NOT connected correctly and the two

- Tom, Since the 240 line is at least suspect, could you take say, a 1KW electric heater, and a voltmeter, and test the 240 line each side of neutral? I would think if the line will be stable either si

- Here's my take on all this. After reading the various post I am 99.999999% sure it is an ac 240v line problem. Both legs of the ac line and the neutral to both legs should be tested under load. Simpl
