Greetings, Stupid question of the month...... How do I calculate the driving VOLTAGE requirements of a tube or tubes in a passive grid configuration in the absense of a datasheet specifiying same? Ex
Maybe I have the math wrong.... E=sqrt(P*R) so P == 100 R == 50 then E = 70.7106 or approx 100V Peak Or am I wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy off? -- Microsoft is NOT the answer Microsoft is the question and the ans
The math looks right to me. If your going to run the tubes in AB1 then whatever the bias voltage is set at is the maximum peak voltage that you need. Any more and you will drive the tubes into grid c
Watts are normally rms. In grid apps, one must use peak watts, not rms. Thus, at 50-ohms, 100V-peak = 100w-rms = +/- 100v-peak To: <amps@contesting.com> - Rich..., 805.386.3734, www.vcnet.com/measure
Thanks guys! This was clearly too obvious. Now I feel really stupid!!! ( AD5GB dons the pointy hat..... steps away from the amplifier ) -- Microsoft is NOT the answer Microsoft is the question and th
