James, I wasn't sure on the plate voltage I listed so I checked it and it should be 4000 Vdc maximum. So say 3500 to 4000 Vdc. Will ** REPLY SEPARATOR ** _____________________________________________

Johns right, I never thought of that. Is it possible it is connected for 220 Vac but being ran on 110 vac? Most 3-500Z amps are ran from 220. That would drop both the heater and plate voltage to half
