Anyone have any thoughts about how good or bad a Racal Dana 9028P signal generator is? I know it will go from audio to about 520 MHz, AM, FM, CW, etc. Digital freq counter with coarse and fine tuning

Is it 9028 or 9082? I have a couple of 9081/9082 - used as door stops mainly. They're ok as sources for single tone amplifer testing and for testing commercial FM radio kit, otherwise they're awful.

Will, If you mean a 9082, it's a fair but cheap synthesiser. I've got one and use it fairly often. Perhaps it's not what you're thinking of as the min freq on this is 1.5MHz. To me, it's biggest draw

One of that series ( and I can't remember which) was fully synthesised and very quiet. Plus very heavy and not too small. 73 Peter W6/G3RZP _______________________________________________ Amps mailin
