guys: i found the factory dimensions of the old 58' boom 6 element KLM 20 at W5WMU. he still has two; or at least most of the pieces of two of them. I modeled the parasitic elements with eznec 5, inc
has anybody actually tried replacing the dual-driven elements and 4:1 balun on a KLM big stick yagi with a single, direct fed, driven element? my EZNEC model makes me think it should work just as wel
thanks bill * seems like a good idea to me, anyway. less weight and wind loading or are you driving one and leaving the other in place (i.e. 6 total). * but i would consider this also, if i
anybody try one ? thinking about a pair of inv Vee's at 150' for 80/75 meters.. have access to a 60' boom.... we need an alternate to the verticals at w5wmu...too many towers, hi ! our 80m qso's to e
to me, anyway, the OWA 'burns' a director for broad-band impedance matching..so, a '4 el OWA' is really a 3 element yagi...don't think the first director contributes much to forward gain or f/b.....K
yup, it works, i built a 'mini'...you can even use homebrew open wire feeders to each vertical leg, and use just one matching transformer and 800 ohm ( +/- ) termination....73, w5xz, dan Greetings,
my reply, after working for almost a year to get a pair of them playing, nearly 180 out in rotary configuration. a.k.a. "the waller flag" is... 'it depends...' mostly, on how big it is...and if you

great tips, Joe.. 73, w5xz, dan If you want to split the difference between buying and building, consider the W5WVO <http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/A50-5S_w5wvo.pdf> or K9MU <http://www.k9mu.com/a5
or, contact K4IQJ...dick has been feeding his k9ay's with HiZ preamps for some time. 73, w5xz, dan From my experience and in reviewing a lot of literature, unless the loop is *really* small, preampli
dave i think w8ji has some stuff about traps on his website; might merit a look. my experience with rf doorknobs outdoors, they don't like to get wet.. jm2c, 73 w5xz, dan I plan to build one for 15m
bravo John, and Don...that's a keeper! w5xz if it doesn't work, I got a copy I can send you. 73 de John N7WB _______________________________________________ Antennaware mailing list Antennaware@cont
agree 1000%, re paragraph 1... 73, w5xz, dan Its hard to beat horizontal antennas on 20m and up due to the ground reflection gain. Same for 40m if you can get a decent height (> .5 wl). As for match
