How about applying the same standards that the ARRL requires for DXCC certification ? 73, Steve, N2IC _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest mailing list CQ-Contest@contesting.com
Let up, guys. The petitioner, W5FG, is 89 years old. 73, Steve, N2IC _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest mailing list CQ-Contest@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mail
What ?! I'm reading the rules at the official source: http://www.arrl.org/contests/rules/2009/iaru.html : 4.1. Single Operator 2. 4.1.2. One person performs all operating and logging functions. 3. 4.
These rules haven't changed for at least 10 years. There's nothing muddled here. If you use packet, and are going to send in your log, then you should abide by the multi-operator, single-transmitter
Perhaps it's time to change the sponsorship of the WAEDC to a European contest club, rather than a national organization such as DARC. That would certainly help DARC get out of their political quanda
Stop it ! We had the open logs discussion ad nauseum less than a year ago ! Please, no more hijacking of threads ! 73, Steve, N2IC _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest mailing l
Under the current CQWW rules, that log snippet looks perfectly legitimate. They were CQing on 14099 and doing S&P for the other QSO's. That could have been done with a single radio, with the bandmap
If you're questioning the ability to have such a high rate, and be able to intersperse some S&P QSO's..... This is exactly the situation that having a network of SDR receivers placed strategically a
Flame on.... RTTY activity has dramatically increased in the past decade. Hasn't RTTY activity reached the point that the CQWW RTTY could have the same rules as the CQWW CW and SSB contests ? Almost
No. EU's get 1 point for working other EU. The 2 point rule only applies to North Americans working other North Americans in a different North American country. Hey, I'm hurt a lot worse by this than
You shouldn't assume that. In the last WRTC in Brazil, one of the USA regions had a team leader who was #8 in the rankings amongst those who turned in an application. All of those ahead of him either
The CQWW 2009 spotlight has been activated on www.contesting.com. It would be great to see more photos of your CQWW activities. Go to www.contesting.com, look on the right side for "CQWW 2009" and cl
Being the devil's advocate, your argument of "non amateur-radio communications" is off-base. Step back in time to the early 90's. No public internet back then. Packet was in full swing, with VHF pack
Not a bad idea, at all. Where did this business about high bands being USB, and low bands being LSB come from, anyway ? Are there any technical or legal reasons why we shouldn't switch to USB on 40 m
There is no reason why this couldn't be adopted immediately by the contesting community, is there ? Frankly, I don't care what sideband the rest of the 40 meter users use. 73, Steve, N2IC ___________
I would like to clarify the statement I made earlier: "Frankly, I don't care what sideband the rest of the 40 meter users use." First, let me apologize to anyone who may have taken offense from this.
Code readers have been in use for many years in SS. With free software, such as CWGet and DM780, it has become easier than ever. That's fine with me - It increases CW contesting activity. I think of
IMHO, the proposed changes to the M/S rules make very little difference. I'm still going to use 2 radios, and keep 2 ops busy all the time, but have a lockout to prevent simultaneous transmissions. O
