- Yep - when I started contesting in 1970, ARRL SS & DX contests had a low power category. Except for a few isolated cases, the only categories in other contests were single band or all band, m/s or m/

- In your part of the country, this is true. Come out to West Texas for some VHF contests. You can CQ for hours on 2M & up & never get a soul. You are to be congratulated on your great scores up there.

- Yep: It pays to read the CORRECT rules. My top ten (claimed) QRP CW SS score didn't get in this time because I didn't read ANY rules and missed the deadline! At least CQ Magazine emphasizes their rul
