The problem with the HQ abbreviation in the IARU contest will probably be fixed by the authors of the logging programs. Be careful in editing the cabrillo log after it is produced by the logging prog

Besides the bad packet spots (wrong call and mis typed call) there is another QSO B4 that is troubling on both 40 and 75 SSB. Often the Dx are listening on the same frequency (say 7240) and if you ca

Jim Cain brought up some valid points on the ARRL SS. As late as the mid 1960's the SS exchange was very lengthy to train operators to send traffic (most of us were also traffic handlers then). As fa

I agree with K0HB. I don't think anyone in the USA should operate within 3 khz of ANY band edge on SSB! Not only will a FCC pink slip DQ you but a couple of ARRL OO reports will do the trick. Perhaps

This type of thing happens almost every contest. THis is another reason why someone needs to review the log rather than letting a computer figure the final score. I would log the QSO and make a note

I say again DX Spotting networks are for spotting rare or semi rare DX. One major web spotting network does not like their site taken over by non rare spots or the ARRL SS. True most of us can filter

Wait a minute. If a station works CW or a single band in a contest but works a few friends on say 20 SSB then submits his log for say 80CW why should he submit the 20 SSB QSOs in the same log? The lo
The 2001 CQ WW 160 CW is scheduled for this coming weekend. The complete rules are at the CQ magazine web page under the information center. Please remember that cabrillo logs are preferred this year
The location preferred is the main prefix for that country...GW, UA, S5, LY. This is what TR provides. Dave K4JRB -- CQ-Contest on WWW: http://lists.contesting.com/_cq-contest/ Administrative request
If the filter has 100W in and only 80 watts out then it is acting as a good swamping resistor. These were common a few years ago with AB1 amps. The problem is that the filter is probably getting hot
Please mark those CQ 160 logs with your call. K4JRB.cbr or VK9XX.log helps identify your log not cqww160.log. Please also identify the log as CW or SSB as the SSB section is this weekend. Complete ru
