Have you seen the fairly sizeable maker movement? Arduinos and raspberry pis sell like hot cakes. Even some of my only slightly technical friends are using them for DIY home automation and such. I'm
Re-re-rereading Jim's email I can almost get his point, but I generally disagree. At 33 I sit on a weird place mostly between the generations, technically one of them damn millennials but probably cl
Hi Matt, I'll agree that MOST hams are friendly and really want to get newcomers into the hobby. I'm a moderator of the amateur radio group over on reddit. Unfortunately, it isn't terribly uncommon t
If you're relying on the cluster, you have 2 things to worry about. One, when they reply to you, and two that the cluster actually has the right call. Sometimes stations move, or someone reports a bu
Hi, Is there a tutorial on how to set up the loggers? Depending on which group I'm with, we either use N1MM+ or our own homebrew stuff, is there an API? Thanks! 73, Sean WA1TE _______________________
If you're entirely remote operating, I don't see a problem with being considered unassisted. This is assuming your remote station is entirely in one spot. If you're using a flex, you're communicating

Looks good Jim! Looking forward to digging into that, I need to make some station improvements and this will be a great resource. 73 Sean WA1TE -- Sent from my Motorola DynaTAC 8000X ________________
If anyone is leaving the hobby because of FT8 8m accepting donations of gear. I'll even disperse it to new hams who are trying to get going. 73, Sean WA1TE -- Sent from my Motorola DynaTAC 8000X ____
One comment that was suggested in a thread elsewhere was that Field Day is about being able to test out our ability to deploy in "emergency" situations. FT8 cannot really be used in this type of situ
