I'm intrigued to note that while this petition has been being pushed through individual e-mails, it has not yet even been mentioned on cq-contest. Could it be that the sponsors realize theirs is a mi
If that's true (and I believe that it is) then you have made the case for not allowing Skimmer in CW Sweepstakes. 73, de Hans, K0HB Just a boy and his radio -- ______________________________________
I still think there ought to be a separate "Skimmer" class. That way, no one does anything to violate the rules, the Skimmer users comnpete against themselves, and everyone else not using Skimmer com
So what is the worst that happens? Somebody in Assisted class wins CWSS. That's why I say make a place for it, while not foreclosing competition among people who don't chose to use it. 73, Pete N4ZR
Pete's hit the nail on the head on three counts: it is certainly possible some are overestimating the impact of skimmer. It is also true that new technology should not be banned. And it is also true
The question I have, straight forward - no hidden agenda, no ultimate goals... very simple, why is skimmer being considered? This is a serious question with multi guess answers. 1. to gain a scoring

A locally operated Skimmer is completely different than a network of skimmers. Data from outside is assistance, data from one's own station, unless it is generated by a second human operator, is not
One thing is for sure: This subject has certainly charged the emotions. I don't support the idea of an all-out ban on use of skimmer technology in contesting, so I will not sign the petition. However
I don't see what's such a big deal. The cat got out of the bag long ago. When I got into contesting back in the 1970s, you had to know the prefix tables and the WAZ map. If you worked EA8M2 and logge
