I noted, during the WPX contest, that EO6F was calling CQ CONTEST NO USA, in protest of the ongoing war. This is a real shame, as historically, amateur radio has pretty much kept political difference
Not only the above, but he posted a derogatory message on the Logger reflector which was so bad the sysop removed him from the reflector. I maintain the master data and friend files for the RTTY guys
In the last few months we have all heard many moronic opinions mostly inspired by FOXNEWS. W2UP has climbed up into the top 10 ten. Where does it say in the contest rules you 'MUST' work certain stat
Hi Barry -- You raised an interesting question which will likely stimulate many messages. I disagree with your recommendation for the following reasons. I didn't operate the contest, so I didn't hear
I agree with Eric. We might detest EO6F's position, but he hurts himself by eliminating the USA quantity and multiplier numbers in the WPX, and breaks no contest rule as far as I can tell. Have the U
I don't see that EO6F broke any rules. If he didn't want to work USA, so what? It's only one station and a handful of possible QSO's. Move on to someone else. You aren't going to be able to work ever

Barry, Very well put. I agree 100% with your comments and feel that there is no excuse for what he did, none at all. There is no doubt in my mind that he should be disqualified for unsportsmanlike co
Good point, Dale. Maybe he is going to have his log print out in red or something bizarre like that. Is there a EU depot to send logs? Personally, I thought ham radio was a non-political hobby and th
"but one of the premises of contesting is that it requires cooperation of all stations involved." Independent of the irrational actions of an individual ham, politics have always been a hidden part o
One thing that puzzles me regarding an operator calling CQ CONTEST NO USA in a contest that is sponsored by an USA magazine, the contest committee is all-USA, the logs must be sent to the USA, the re
Barry, since you mentioned Olimpics please recall 1980 Olimpics in Moscow. Politics are part of everything since long ago. Olimpics included. I think the best behavior is not to pay attention to suc
