Thanks Carl but..... I think instead I will use NA! I find I don't have that problem with NA or for that matter, WJ2O Logger. Both of these programs communicate with the rig on the same rig/computer

Thanks to all for good info on this problem, especially Bob, N5NJ. Setting up the COMTSR correctly made all the difference! Now working as expected on the TS850. FYI: the COMTSR3 was: 'COMTSR3 -P3 -B
