Try turning the output power way down... If it keys ok then, you are getting RF into the lead. I had that problem on 6 meters last weekend. I suppose a ferrite treatment would help... Chuck, W5PR

As a follow up... I finally changed the baud rate to 1200 and everything worked ok. Since I had the problem with 2 different radios, does this mean my serial ports are not set up for 19,200 baud rat
