Thanks for the suggestions to reboot under MS DOS mode. Under DOS, using serial port 2 and comstr2 I was still not able to get CT to talk with my FT1000D. However, switching everything to serial port

You have to Master initialize the FT-1000D. Follow the directions in the manual. This will erase all your memory settings, and you will have to reprogram the stored freq's if you use the feature. I d
